Planning Your Visit :

We are excited to welcome you to beautiful Cape Town and glad that you have decided to come and visit us !

Many of our guests decide to extend their stay, so we’ve put together a few suggestions to help you to plan your trip and for any extended bookings outside of your time at our retreat center :

  • Note - your pick up from the airport will be arranged by our Oasis Team, below is further information about your arrival at the airport

The Cape Town International airport is Africa’s third largest airports. Below you’ll find important information about arriving at the Málaga airport, but please visit the Airport Website or Contact Us if you have any unanswered questions.

    FAQS

Will I need a visa to visit South Africa ?

What do I do once I land in Cape Town ?

    • Border Patrol - When you disembark from the airplane, you will be guided down a hallway towards Border Patrol. This is where you will show them your passport, they will ask your purpose for visiting (you are a tourist), and they will stamp your passport. As needed we have sent further travel documents, but this should go smoothly.

    • Luggage - past this checkpoint there are the carousals - you can get a cart to put your luggage on if you would prefer. It would be best to both keep an eye on all your belongings at all times while you wait for your luggage. There is a bathroom in this area and if there are luggage issues you can head to one of the counters for assistance.

    • Please take advantage of the free luggage carts.

    • After you get your luggage, there is a small area that you walk through between you and where we will be waiting for you, which is Customs. They flag you down to stop if they choose to, but typically you can just continue through this area and we will see you on the other side!

    What’s the airport code ?

    • CPT

Is there free WI-FI at the airport ?

    • There is Free internet access but it typically will not work until you’re past Customs. We recommend setting up an e-sim card prior to traveling so make this go as smoothly as possible.

What do I do if I am driving to you ?

    • Our retreat center is on the Cape Peninsula (about 45 minutes from the airport) - if you will be driving, we will give you our address in preparation of your arrival.

  • Note - your accomodation during your retreat week will be arranged by our Oasis Team, but incase you extend your stay elsewhere in the city, below are some suggestions :

We would recommend you stay near the V&A Waterfront - that will have them in the heart of most things. You can easily just Uber everywhere you would want to go as well without having to rent a car unless you want to explore further outside the city.

From the V&A you can go to the Watershed (ideal location for finding memorable souvenirs), jump on the Red Open Bus Tour and definitely go to the Timeout Food Market (food stalls from top restaurants on Cape Town - many fun fusion options)

The Uber app is another option for transport around the city - and its quite affordable

  • Here’s a short list of our most highlly recommended options :

    • Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens - acclaimed as one of the great garden of the world featuring the unique biodivesity of the Cape !

    • Tours of art, history and architecture

    • District Six Museum - powerful museum sharing stories of the impact of apartheid on this one thriving community. We highly recommend the guided tour with former residents of District Six. Afterwards, pop around the corner to Truth Coffee for “the world’s best cofffee shop” (Daily Telegraph)

    • Time Out Market - located at the V&A Waterfront, this market is a great option to try food from some of the top Cape Town resturants that have stalls hosted here !

    • The Watershed - best spot for special souviners and gifts made by artisans

    • Table Mountain - many people go up on the cablecar - I prefer to go up to Signal Hill which is the mountain opposite, so you get the view without the effort of a hike or waiting in line for the cable car :)  Its a popular spot for a “sundowner” - on your way grab some take out food (our favorite option is Eastern Food Bazaar), and then drive up to Signal Hill before sunset to enjoy your food and the view along with others as this is a local tradition. You can also hike Lion’s Head
