A Schengen visa is a short stay visa allowing its holder to circulate in the Schengen area.  The Schengen area covers 26 countries ("Schengen States") without border controls between them. These countries are: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

A Schengen visa is an authorisation issued by a Schengen State with a view to:

  • an intended stay in the territory of the Schengen States of a duration of no more than 90 days in any 180 days period ("short stay visa"),

  • a transit through the international transit areas of airports of the Schengen States ("airport transit visa").

What does the Oasis Team Help with?

Our YWAM Muizenberg Visa Team is only responsible for writing letters for proof of occupation from our YWAM Base, so please keep in mind that it is fully your responsibility to be on top of your visa process from beginning to end. We do what we can to share what information we have, which can be found in the tabs to the left.

If you are wanting to ensure the latest information and best assistance for your visa application process, you are always welcome to hire Imcosa to assist you as they are professionals in this area. Pursuing this option is expensive and doesn’t guarantee a visa, but its worth it for many of our missionaries.

WHAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Praying for favor in getting a visa!

  • Starting the process to apply for your Visa early enough for it to be processed in time

  • Follow all the steps for your application process (see the categories to the left)

  • Gathering all the required documents and making all appointments needed

  • Covering all financial aspects of applying for a visa

  • Proofreading any Visa Invitation Letter drafts that you receive it from the Visa Team to make sure all information is correct, and getting back to us so we can send a final copy

  • All printing

  • Sending us a copy of your visa when you receive a new one so that we can have it on file

  • Communicating with our Visa Team - if you have a request or question - email us!

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM OUR VISA TEAM:

  • Once we get the information we need for a Schengen Visa letter, we will send a draft of a visa letter and once it is proofread, we will send a final copy back to you

  • Optional: If you would like us to meet with and review your documents before you submit them to double check for any possible errors, email our team and we can find a time to meet with you
