MUIZENBERG :
Muizenberg is considered to be the birthplace of surfing in South Africa, centered around the popular “Surfer’s Corner”, and boasting of beautiful ocean views. Muizenberg is also know for its colorful beach huts on our white sand beaches.
BEAUTIFUL PLACES / THINGS TO DO:
Go up to Boyes Drive which overlooks the city and easy drive to avoid Main Rd.
Walk on the beach — sometimes it can be dangerous, so be cautious- don’t walk past the colored houses, or ever when there aren’t lots of people around
Walk the boardwalk — sometimes it can be dangerous, so be cautious- don’t walk past Put Put
Park past the traffic circle downtown Muiz its a great spot to watch the waves
Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve — perfect place for an evening walk to watch the sun go down, or sit on the beach. Sometimes there are Flamingos, Egyptian Geese, Ibis, or Heron.
Put Put (mini golf) — between Beach Rd. & the boardwalk
Charity Shops — Hidden Treasures (next to Checkers) or Living Hope (on Main Road)
Surfing — lessons are available for hire in some of the beach front shops- or a local YWAMer, Beau gives lessons (has done so for many years, including a wetsuit and board rental) +27 (84) 390-7770
Joon — favorite gathering place for locals and they serve great pizza- they also have a great back patio / garden
Hang out at The Commons — which is a Cafe + Vinyl, Book Store + Bar + Studio + Workshop with live Music
Thursday + Friday Nights (4-9 pm) Blue Bird Garage — a vibey food market. They have clothes, jewelry and fresh vegetables for sale as well. A great gathering places for locals! We love their steak salad board food stand, and they also carry affordable flowers and produce. Kid and pet friendly
Sundays (8 am - 4pm): Muizenberg Flea Market at Sunrise Circle- you can pick up South African souvenirs and affordable homeware

Four & Twenty Cafe — Parisian inspired cafe with all day breakfast, one of the top rated in the city
Chart Farm — cute cafe you need to book because its busy, huge rose garden (get your own bucket where you pick your own roses for R5 each, R3 per rose on Sundays). You can also visit the Farm Stall while you’re there to buy farm fresh goods like lemons, limes, grapes, figs, chestnuts, and cherries
