Affordable to repair / reliable cars for your money: Toyota, VW, Hyundai, Nissan or Kia. Don’t get a Tata, Fiat or Renault
The suggested car insurance companies are: Budget or Momentum
Note: it is normal practice for car insurance companies to up your insurance once a year by at least R150. What this looks like is that you will get an email about a premium / rates increase - then call your insurance company and ask them to review the increase, citing if you haven’t made any claims - and they will often lower it back to the original premium you pay.
Some companies also offer a cash back amount if you don’t make any claims - make sure to follow up if you don’t get this payout
